We had our family pictures taken on a beautiful, overcast Saturday morning. We love to take them at the sites in Kirtland because there are so many fun backdrops to choose from. We had such a fun morning. I love how the pictures turned out. I will post some of them later. I snapped this one while the photographer wasn't looking...
We were able to find our favorite, Sister Clark while we were there. She was giving a tour of the Whitney store. We joined in and had one of the most spiritual tours yet. The kids were amazing and we were really able to learn something new.Even though we've toured the store about a dozen times... the spirit it still the same and we come away feeling so grateful for the sacrifices of the early saints. Walking in the same place as a Prophet, and sitting in a room where the Savior appeared is truly amazing. I hope I never take for granted what a marvelous place we live near.
We are gearing up for another drive to Utah this Friday. We are headed to a family reunion for my side of the family. All of my siblings will be together for the first time in years! I have made personalized pillowcases for each of the cousins. They will be signing them like yearbooks on the last day. It has been so fun to make them for each of my neices and nephews!
Petey is such a character. He recently found this red hat. It belongs to Jeremy, but Petey has taken it over.
Lincoln won first place at the Concept Science Fair a few months ago. The mayor came to their school and did a special award ceremony for all of the winners.
Last week was the anniversary of the death of Jim Henson. I found this picture online and I absolutely fell in love with it! I know Kermit isn't real.... but this just melted my heart! Within minutes of finding this picture we found out that our sweet Grandma Davis had passed away. I took the news really hard. It was a rough week. I know she is in a better place, and she is with her sweetheart again... good byes are just so hard. Especially when you are far away and aren't able to participate in the funeral or see them one last time. We will be able to visit her grave when we visit next week. I am really looking forward to that.
Henry loves to play on the ground during Relief Society. A few weeks ago he made a friend...
After a particularly hard day, I came up stairs to find this little gem in the hallway. I love my girls so much. This felt like a message from my Heavenly Father. I felt comfort knowing that even on my hardest days, I am a good mom and He is proud of me.
Henry has been mastering crawling the past week or so. He has loads of cheerleaders!
Our refrigerator decided to stop cooling and our dishwasher decided that it wanted to leak water all the time. After calling several repairmen, we decided that it would be better to just go and buy new ones. (long story...) Luckily the fridge was practically empty because we hadn't gone grocery shopping in awhile. I tried to see the silver lining in the situation. It was pretty hard most of the time. I was able to cook the bread dough that had thawed and risen in the freezer... and we were able to eat out two nights in a row! Those a blessings for sure.
