Halloween!

We got hit by Hurricane Sandy just a little bit the past few days.  We've seen lots of rain and crazy winds.  Our power went out a few times, but only for a little bit.  Lincoln and Graham said it's because they prayed.  Thanks guys.  The kids are so lucky because school has been cancelled the past two days!  Yesterday it was due to the weather.  Today it's because their school has no power!  The sad thing is that Trick-or-treating has been postponed until Sunday.  We asked the kids if we should go on Sunday and they said No.  I love them.  We are going to have a family party instead filled with carving pumpkins, a spooky dinner, trick or treating to the bedrooms, and our traditional Night Before Christmas movie night.  I could get used to this!

The kids have been able to dress up a few times already.  Luckily there was no rain and we took our pictures then!  Here are my little cuties all dressed up and ready to party!

Jayne:  Strawberry Shortcake

Peter:  Charlie Brown

Graham: a vampire

Lincoln:  a zombie

Grace:  a nice witch

I love my kiddos.  And I'm so happy that they appreciate that I make their costumes for them.  Year after year I hear them saying, "We're so lucky our mom makes our costumes."  It makes all the stress worth it.

corn and donuts.

They added a corn pit to the fun fest this year.  I liked it much more than the sand.  I loathe sand.  The kids had fun getting buried.  Except one of them.  Guess who....
Jayne preferred making new friends and covering up herself.

We let them wander in the pumpkin patch for a little bit and shattered their dreams by telling them that we can't afford to pick our own pumpkins this year.  The joys of paying off student loans and starting up an endo practice.
I seriously want to live here...
All this time I thought this was the extent of Patterson Farm... but I was told about a store that you can go to for amazing donuts and even more fun.  We found our way over to check it out.
 The donuts were amazing!
We'll definitely be making it out here one more time just for another taste!
Gracie showed off her mad skillz doing the splits!
Peter showed off his muscles again pulling Jayne in the wagon.
 These gourds were my favorite.
The drive home was breathtaking.  The best part is that some of it is in our ward boundaries!  We decided that we'll definitely be looking for homes in this area when the time comes to move.  That time can't come quick enough!

the playhouse.

Somebody is in jail... and she isn't very happy about it.
Peter found a new true love in the tire swing.

I want to blow this up and frame it.  I love it.
She sings everywhere she goes lately.
 Another fun slide.
I love that Grace is at the bottom of the slide with her arms up and a huge smile ready to catch Petey-boo.  This is classic Grace.  Such a sweet big sister.
Lincoln likes to ride the tire swing "Like a Man!"
Jayne was thrilled to find her little friend from church there!
She couldn't be cuter if she tried!
Graham rides the tire swing like a crazy person.....
These two giggled and smiled and giggled some more.  Such cute little friends.
 Always a little crazy man...
Another favorite shot of the trees.
Let's see if Lincoln can climb a tree... of course he picks the skinniest little thing.
Peter was obsessed with this little bridge.
 And throwing rocks....
 And putting on Gracie's headband.
