living room makeover!

Remember this old nastiness?  Okay... it's not that bad.  But after six years we decided it was time to say good-bye.  He found a new home for him.  All is well.

 After weeks and weeks of spending way too much time on Craigslist looking at furniture and begging people to let me buy it, only to get zero response from anyone.... we finally found the perfect set!

 Our best friends have this identical set and so I already knew I would love it.  I had to have it.  And luckily sending those 3 e-mails to the seller did the trick and they let me have it!  They said that I showed the most interest.  Now I know that sending multiple e-mails to the seller is the way to go.  It's so fun to have the same furniture as our besties.  This way when they move back to Utah we will still (sort of) have a piece of them with us.  :)

 I was most excited for this chair... it is heavenly to sit in.  I think I have a new favorite spot in the house.  If I can get these two woogaboos to let me sit there!

 I covered the generic striped pillows with new fabric, and found adorable bird cage ones to match. (I love Marshall's.)

 And bought new curtains to hang.  Actually they are shower curtains.  I am kind of love with them lately.  Who knew shower curtains could be used for so many things!  (Target has the best selection of fabric ones.)

 We always end up with tons of blankets in the front room so I bought this cute little container to put them in. (also from Marshall's)

 We are all loving the new setup.  I feel so spoiled.  It is so nice to be in love with my home again.  The only room that we haven't done a makeover in (besides the basement) is our bedroom.  We'll see if I have the energy to complete that task.
