We had the perfect conference weekend. We really shut the world out and were in our own little world for two days. It was wonderful. We watched all four sessions with the kids. There were times when it got a little two loud and we sent them to play in their rooms, but for the most part we were all together listening. I loved every minute.
Lincoln made a temple out of legos during one of the sessions. While Jeremy was away at priesthood session, I got the kids to bed. They begged me to let them have a sleepover. I finally gave in because they were just so cute all bundled in the bottom bunk together.
We were supposed to get take family pictures on Sunday morning but it was a gloomy, rainy day so we made forts instead.
I tried to have lots of activities for them to do during the different sessions. I think they were pretty well entertained. We had lots of snuggle time.
We attempted to fold our weekly mountain of laundry... and then decided against it. Peter had fun playing in between the baskets.
More snuggles.
By the final half hour the kids were getting a little silly and wrestle-y.
It was so nice to listen to the counsel of the prophets and apostles. There were many talks that spoke to my soul. The main message I took away was to have patience as we are trying to figure out this phase of our lives. We aren't in a position to buy a house like we would like to right now and that's okay. We are happy and cozy in our little house and we can stay here for as long as we need to. We need to do things on the Lord's time table and not our own. Also, I need to be more grateful for the things that I have and live more in the moment. So grateful for these gentle reminders.
My favorite part of our weekend was all of the time I got to spend with my sweetie. He works so hard for our family and the time we get with him is very limited. It was heaven getting to see him so much.
Do we really have to wait six more months to do this again?!
