indigo girls.

It's no secret that Jeremy and I love going to concerts together.  It is our favorite, favorite thing to do.  Our music taste overlaps enough that we are able to enjoy a wide range of music.  We found out that the Indigo Girls were coming to our favorite Playhouse and bought our tickets as fast we could.  We tried to get Jeremy's sisters to come out and go with us... but money doesn't grow on trees.  Man I wish that it did.  We thought of them the entire time and wished that they were there with us!

We tried to take lots of pictures.... but they ended up looking all the same.  Except for this one.  This is the openers.  I can't even remember their name.  They were that good.  We were bummed when they announced that they would be staying to play for the Indigo Girls.  Jeremy wasn't happy at all.  But it turned out okay in the end.  Apparently they don't have a band that plays with them all the time.  They just hire their openers to play for them.  It was kind of cool.
So the pictures don't look exactly the same.... they are holding different instruments in each of them!  They actually had a 'guitar girl' that would bring them a different guitar every single song.  I would love to be that girl.  What a cool job.
They played a lot of new stuff off their latest album "Beauty Queen Sister".  I tried to listen to it a lot before the concert and new more songs than Jeremy did.  Most of the concert was amazing.  There were a few crazy agenda-ridden songs that I could have done without but for the most part it was fantastic.
They played several of my favorites:  Closer to Fine, Galileo, Fill it Up Again, Least Complicated...
A little video montage especially for Emily, Becca and Valerie...
I loved when just the two of them played.  They are so talented.
The openers played really well and didn't have much stage presence at all when the girls were singing.  That's just the way that we liked it.  They tried to hard when they were playing their own stuff.  It was annoying.
I must admit that I knew they were lesbians before we went, but I did not realize what a huge lesbian following they had in their fans.  I don't think I've ever been in a room with so many lesbians in my life!  It was a new experience for me.
During one song it was just Indigo Girl.  It was fun to hear her sing alone.
Can't wait for our next concert!
