We've been ordering a few things for baby over the past month or so. I wanted a new carseat because the one Peter used was looking pretty shabby. I ordered one from Amazon and was so excited for it to arrive. When it came I noticed that the box was super heavy for one little carseat. I remember they are beastly to carry, but that was only when the child was actually in it. Upon opening the box it all made sense. Instead of my carseat... there were eight convertible crib safety rails inside! When I called Amazon to get a refund and a free return shipping label the lady on the end of the line simply said, "Men." I laughed so hard! We ended up just clean up Peters. Good choice.
This was taken one night when I wasn't feeling well. I had spent most of the day on the couch, silently complaining about the woes of pregnancy. (I try not to complain out loud because I truly understand the joy of being able to be pregnant. I know some women aren't so lucky so I try to count my blessings even in the hard times.) I looked over my shoulder and saw all of my favorite people around the table eating ice cream cones. It was one of those glorious moments when all is right in the world. A friend of mine posted this on instagram and I laugh every time I think about it. Can you imagine opening your door to that?! I think I would pee my pants for sure. I so want to start this in our ward.
We have been able to feed both the Elders and the Sisters in our ward this month because one of the Elders is the Zone leader and can leave his area for meals. I love feeding the missionaries. We try to have them each Wednesday night. It makes for a busy night because it's also cub scouts/activity days night, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm so sad we have to take a break when the baby is born. I love these people dearly.
Last weekend I got to go to our Stake Women's Conference. I look forward to this weekend every single year. My spiritual bucket was filled to the brim after the morning was over. I love it when that happens.
We have been on a tight budget this month due to moving, baby and other stuff. We haven't been able to afford our regular date nights with a baby-sitter. We've had to get a little creative. After the kids went to bed the other night I snuck out and got us a pizza and we snuggled on the couch in the basement watching a movie. Jeremy even let me pick the movie (I had tried to watch an edited version of The Matrix a few nights before but it was just not my cup of tea.) He enjoys Jane Austen-ish movies every once in awhile. It was the perfect date night in. Can't wait to do it again sometime.
This was Family Home Evening at our house last week. The girls and Peter dancing while the boys 'played' primary songs. Our goal is to have enough instruments for everyone to play something at FHE. We're almost there. Everyone is getting some kind of instrument for their birthdays this year. Graham just got an autoharp. :)
I love the drive to the kids school in the mornings. We drive through a metropark and it is just so gorgeous! The leaves are starting to change and we have been able to wear cardigans. I get excited just thinking about Fall in Cleveland. There is no place I would rather be.
Who says the sky is always grey in Ohio... So not true. I was recently in a lesson where the teacher said, "If the sky is grey... make your own sunshine!" I love that. She also said that we create our own light (or happiness). There is only one light switch in our lives and we are the only ones that can turn our light on. That lesson changed my life. I have thought about it every time I have had a 'woe is me' moment since.
