My Mother's Day was fantastic. I woke up to whispers in the hallway. It was Jeremy telling the kids, "Everyone get dressed in their Sunday clothes and be so quiet so mommy can stay asleep." I stayed in bed until my handsome Graham came in and said, "Mommy! It's time to wake up so we can give you your Mother's Day gifts! We're all ready for you to come downstairs!"
I came downstairs and was showered with handmade cards, gifts made at school and a new iron and ironing board cover (mine had been destroyed by my adorable children a few days prior). We then ate cereal for breakfast. The kids were thrilled that I was eating with them. A rare treat as I usually forget to eat breakfast... or drink a smoothie while driving them to school.
After that we all raced to finish getting ready for church. I got to drive to church with my sweetie. That never happens! After an incredibly hard sacrament meeting (Peter is at such a joyful stage) and a fabulous young women's lesson... I got to drive home with my sweetie. Another rare treat.
When we got home I got to spend some time sewing. Then I supervised the making of dinner. Navajo tacos. Mexican is my favorite...
After dinner we just hung out around the house. My favorite way to spend Sunday evenings. I was able to talk to my mom, Jeremy spoke with his. It was the perfect day! At the end of the night as I was tucking my children into bed, I whispered into their ears, "I am so thankful that I get to be your mommy!" Happy, healthy children is the best Mother's Day gift I could ever ask for. I am so blessed.
