Petey's room.

The missionaries were at our house for dinner this week and they asked us if there was anything that they could do for us.  I casually said, "Well, you could come and help me paint sometime..." thinking there was no way they could do that for me.   Turns out they are asked to do service hours for members or non-members and were thrilled for the chance to come and help me!  We spent an afternoon this week painting Peter's room.  It was so fun.  I learned so much about both of them.  Sister Christian (the one with curly hair) is from the Isle of Man (between Great Britain and Ireland).  She is the first missionary to serve since her father served a mission 30 years ago.  She has the coolest accent.  I could listen to her speak all day!
I wish I had a before picture.  Imagine white, grimy walls that had years of tape residue from kids taping all of their gorgeous artwork on the walls.  It was pretty bad in there.
We inherited this crib from my best friend.  They are done having kids and I loved it more than my old white one.  I love that this crib went through their whole family and now my child gets to use it!  We love their family so much.
This desk was such an eye sore before we painted it.  It used to be this awful green color.  The kids didn't seem to mind.  It was covered with books before too. Now the books reside in the closet.  Still accessible, but not out in the open.
I had fun decorating this space.  I found the frames at either Target or Marshall's (it's like TJ Max).  We printed off some pictures of Peter, a few awesome quotes, and a picture of the Savior playing with several little boys.  I love it!
I scored the canvas' at the Target dollar spot for 50 cents each!  They had awesome sports pictures on them.  I just painted over them with white,  added fabric to them and now I have beautiful art.  I got the cute birds on a wire at Target too.  I love them way too much.
 A little more decoration...
And the curtains.  They are scrappy... and busy... and I love them too.
Peter kept coming into his room and ooing and aahing all day as I worked on it.  It was so sweet.  I think it's safe to say that he loves his new home.
