Jeremy and I are headed to Utah this morning. I wish we were going for happy times but we aren't. Jeremy's brother-in-law, Ryan, passed away from his battle with leukemia last week. (He's the one on the left... without glasses.)
We are so grateful to have known Ryan. He was such a good man. He loved his family more than anything in the world and I loved watching him with his sweet wife, Emily. They have a greatest love story. I'm so grateful for our friends for stepping up and taking our kids without hesitation so Jeremy and I can go and enjoy the time with his family without worrying about them. I can't even describe how thankful I am.
I really hope I can make it through these next few days.

I was so saddened to hear about Ryan. We grew up in the same ward and he was often at our house hanging out with my older brother. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know he wouldn't have left his family had it been his choice. Emily's a strong woman and she'll get through this, as will you all. You're all such amazing, spiritual people and I'm grateful that we are members of a Church who know where we go after life.
