Projects and my favorite things.

Having a fenced in backyard has done wonders for my relationship with my sewing machine.  Really my crafting time in general.  I have started doing quiet time during naptime for all the kids everyday.  Petey takes a nap, the other kids watch a movie (the only tv allowed in our house anymore), and I spend time creating.  I am a much better mommy if I get a few hours of me time every day.  Here are a few of the projects I've gotten done over the past ten days or so. ...

I ordered vintage alphabet flash cards from etsy and some mini clothespins and hung them from twine above Henry's changing table.  I have a thing for vintage looking decor.  I can't get enough.  I also got all the tiny baby clothes washed and put away.  Peter helped and kept saying, "aww... Cute baby Henny!"  Adorable.
We had our windows redone in our old house a few years ago.  I saved a few of the old ones for decorating purposes.  I finally was able to use them in this home.  I painted both of them white and then sanded then down a little to make them look old.  This one is my favorite.  I just added fabric to the back of it.
I bought a cricut machine because they were on sale cheaper than they will be Black Friday (or so the sales lady told me). I needed a few things made around the house including the Welcome sign on my front door.
I got some cute flannel and made burpcloths for Henry.  I find that flannel works best for me and didn't bother with adding cloth diapers.  This was such an easy project.
I wanted a little quilt for the cradle.  I went to a little quilt shop near me and found this adorable fabric.  I'm in love.
We never really decorated our master bedroom in the old house.  I just never got to it when we were redecorating and painting everywhere.  I'm working on it in this house.  I ordered these chevron curtains but they were too short.  I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning them so I bought a flat sheet and added a panel to the top and bottom.  I love how they turned out!
I am in love with Hummel prints.  I ordered a few German calendars from Etsy and framed each little 4x6 around my kitchen.  They are my favorite and make me smile everytime I look at them.
I found these on Urban Outfitters website and fell in love.  I plan to use them to house the hats/scarves/gloves in the winter.  Until then, I need ideas for what to put in the little cubbies.
We wanted to change a few things in our home when we moved.  We have been good at fhe each week but the kids have wanted a chart.  We made a chalkboard chart and it has worked so well!  We also started the Wilde Family Laws.  I'll post more about that another time.
When we first moves to Cleveland our back door required an old skeleton key.  I have kept that key all this time.  I found the perfect little frame and it now hangs in our family room.
The kids drew some family pictures before we moved on wooden canvas' from Target.  With a little ribbon to jazz them up, they now reside in their bathroom.
I saw this on Pinterest and had to have it in our upstairs hallway.  The kids love that they can display their art for all to see!
This is the other window from our old house.  It is going to hang in graham and peters room... In just afraid to ask Jeremy to hang one more thing...
Jayne really wanted the top bunk in the girls room.  Gracie finally agreed, but she insisted on having a curtain on her bottom bunk so she could still have privacy.  She helped pick the fabric and I made it happen.
Henry will be in our room for the first few months of his life so we bought a little cradle.  I made the bumpers and a quilt to match.  They are my favorite.
My best friend moved back in June.  I think of her and miss her every single day.  She was so nice and left me her adorable red hutch when she moved.  I don't know how I got so lucky.  It feels like I have a piece of her in my home.  I love it.  I keep a picture of her and my other bestie on the top shelf.  They are my favorite.

I love every single picture! I wish I had room in my house for these cute kinds of things! I might just have to rearrange...
