I love that it is Thanksgiving week and I'm just blogging about Halloween. Lol!
Someday I am going to realize that procrastinating is never a good idea. I was making costumes hours before the ward trunk-or-treat. If my kids didn't ask me to do it... I would store buy them.
I love Harry Potter. Love, love it. Almost as much as the Muppets. My kids have never read the books, they've only seen one or two of the movies... so I thought there was no way they would even consider dressing up as Harry Potter characters. We were talking about costumes while doing homework one day and I expressed how much I would love it if we all did it this year. One by one they said they wanted to. I promise there was no coaxing from me. I was so happy!Graham was Hagrid...
Peter was Ron...
Jayne was Ginny... (She might have been my favorite.)
Lincoln was Harry... (I was kicking myself for cutting his longer hair just weeks before... he could have been perfect!)
Gracie was Hermione... (She was a favorite at the trunk-or-treat... she really does look so much like her in the first movie.)
Henry was Dobby the House elf.
I was Rita Skeeter (or Professor Umbridge... everyone thought I was her.)
Jeremy was Dumbledore. I wish I had bought enough fabric to make him a nightcap...
A few group shots...
Natalie dressed as a Hogwarts student too...
All of my hard work paid off... we won best costumes at the Trunk or Treat!
Jayne and her bestie at the trunk or treat.Pictures sent to us from other people...
This mean old witch tried to steal my baby!
We carved pumpkins a few days before. Why is this such a hard tradition? One of more children always end up in tears...
Petey and Henrys...
Grahams....
Gracies...
Jayne and Lincolns...
All lit up and ready for trick-or-treaters!
The cutest little pumpkin in our patch...
It rained buckets on Halloween... but it looked pretty!
We had some friends over for a fun dinner and trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.
Afterwards we gorged out on candy and watched The Nightmare Before Christmas!
The kids are already discussing what theme we will next year... Peter Pan, Napoleon Dynamite and a few others have been in the mix...
