My favorite weekend came and went so fast. Conference goes by so much quicker when you are an adult! I love Conference weekend because we shut out the world completely and live in our own little bubble for a few days. I made my conference survival kit ahead of time this year and it came in so handy! I think it was the best one yet. And the easiest to throw together.
This is what our house looks like during conference... the kids are crafting on the floor....And mom and dad are cuddling on the couch. It's my favorite, favorite.
In between sessions we go for a traditional conference walk. Peter was so happy that he didn't have to be in a stroller this year.
The boys opted to go on the wooded path....
And the girls stuck to the paved path.
Jayne pretended to be too tired to go on...
I love my girlies.
We met up on the playground...
All of the activities in the survival kit got used and the kids stayed happy through every session. We require them to be in the same room as us and to stop what they are doing whenever the Prophet speaks. It works for us and hopefully they are learning a little something.
I realized halfway through a session that I was dressed like a flag....
I had my own conference projects to work on when I wasn't snuggling with Jeremy. I bound two quilts over the four sessions.
The girls got a little restless by the last session and started wrestling...
Puzzles were a big hit this year.
This is when President Monson was telling the story about starting the fire. The kids were glued! They still talk about that story.
Jeremy started breaking out in this horrible rash during the Sunday sessions. We went to the doctor the next day.
So many powerful messages this year. I had several questions answered and was strengthened so much by the Spirit that I felt through the words of the apostles and President Monson. I can't wait until October!
