Our friends found the perfect spot for watching the fireworks. It wasn't crowded and we felt like we had a front row seat for the excitement. One of the things I love about living in Ohio is the fireflies! The kids had a blast collecting a few before the fireworks began.
In Ohio you are only allowed to do sparklers and smokey fireworks. Bor-ing. We brought 12 boxes of sparklers for the kids to enjoy.
Peter's first sparkler! He did really well but had the death grip a little too close to the flame. He nearly got burned a few times.
Our crowd ready for the show to begin.
Last year Peter went missing after the firework show. This year I kept him really close to me so that nightmare didn't happen again. He loved the show! Halfway through he looked up at me and said, "Too loud, mommy... too loud." It was adorable.
The kids were so cute and would yell out things like, "That one was awesome!" every time one lit up the sky.
This is my first attempt posting a video from my phone. I hope it works! As soon as we started packing up to go home Peter said, "It's over, Mom! It's over!" And kept repeating it to anyone near him almost the entire half hour ride home. He especially loved to tell Lincoln... so gets annoyed quickly. We will never forget that ride home!
