swimming lessons.

I did it.  I signed my  kids up for swimming lessons.  I am not a fan of swimming.  Bathing suits and I don't mix.  I have a horrible self esteem (working on it.)  That combined with the fact that I don't feel comfortable taking my kids to the pool alone... ever.... means that we have deprived children.  I decided to suck it up and sign them up this summer.  I was robbing them of a childhood experience that they should be able to enjoy.  And enjoy it they have!  They are all in heaven!
Graham is the most afraid of the water.  He stuck to the side of the pool for most of his lessons at the beginning.  He is now able to do a little more in the water but prefers to always have a floaty.
Grace and Lincoln are in the same class and are now swimming on their own with little fear.
Jayne and Graham have even gone off the diving board a few times!  Their teachers basically lowers them into the water... but it still counts!
They have a little wading pool for toddlers.  Peter and I spend our time there while the other kids are in their lessons.  He doesn't love to be in the water but he really loves dumping it!

They are already asking if they can take lessons every year from now on.  I think I can make that happen.
