growing up.

Our kids have all gotten their first teeth right around one year.  That's pretty late.  So, they start losing their teeth right around 6 or 7.  That's pretty late too.  It's kind of devastating to be the last kid in first grade to lose a tooth.  Gracie lost her bottom middle teeth last year when Daddy pulled them (because the other teeth were already coming in behind them.)  She has three loose teeth right now and has been dying to have Daddy pull them out again.  They haven't been quite ready enough until last night.  He was able to pull one of them out.  I am amazed at how brave she was!  He pulled really hard to get it out and she didn't cry or wince or grimace even a little bit!
There is something about having your child lose those top two middle teeth that makes them look so grown up all of a sudden!
Notice how she's looking to the side in the picture?
Jayne told her that she needed to pose and was coaching her from the sidelines as I took the pictures!  She's quite the little diva.
The last three nights when I've gone to tuck the girls in after they've fallen asleep I have found Gracie snuggled up on the bottom bunk with Jayne.  When I asked her about it she said that she hasn't been able to sleep very well without being right next to Jayne.  So stinkin adorable.

My third grader has only lost two teeth and those were his two middle bottom ones. The top two REALLY need to come out so we're going to talk to our dentist about it. Anthony also grinds his teeth and he's grinding those two top ones down pretty far. Not good. Jayne sure looks adorable with the missing tooth!
