We had a very busy day last week. We went to the aquarium, the zoo and a fun candy store all in one afternoon! It was the perfect day to be outside, overcast but not raining... in the 70s. It was awesome. The kids were so excited when I told them we were going to the aquarium. They've been dying to go ever since we found out it opened. Graham was most excited to see the sting rays. He thinks they will really sting you even if you touch the glass...
They had a really fun Jelly fish display. You could see the cycle of a jelly fish, and then if you looked up high you could see tons of them overhead. Lincoln loves the lionfish...
Peter was in awe of all the bright colors...
Jayne was psyched out of her mind when she saw Nemo. She made me take a picture and send it to her cousin, Lily, that loves Nemo.
I enjoyed watching the kids in the tunnels. They had one that was filled with the mirror fish from Nemo. The ones that make shapes and glisten in the lights.
Grace thought the upside down jelly fish were silly.
My favorite were the seahorses.
They have a touch tank where you can pet crabs and touch sting rays. We didn't get to touch the sting rays, but they did get to feel the crabs.
The man even made the crab say hello to Peter since he was happy in his stroller.
I loved looking at the larger tanks with tons of fish. This one looked just like a scene from Nemo.
Trying to touch the sting rays...
There were dozens of different kinds of fish. Even some that are found in Ohios rivers, lakes and streams.
The boys favorite was the massive shark tank!
There was a big tunnel to walk through inside of the shark tank. They would swim over your heads and you could see all of their teeth up close. Jayne was terrified and wanted out of there quick!
There was even a skeleton of a giant sharks mouth! The boys thought it was incredible.
We ended up getting a yearly pass because it was only a little bit more than going one time. I think we'll visit at least once a month. The kids are so happy!
