We are still going strong with our visits to the temple each month! I think we've missed one month since last October. We have really felt the blessings of attending more often. It's the Saturday I look forward most to each month.
This last time we went there was a few other families from our ward there. The kids were thrilled to play with friends while Daddy enjoyed doing initiatories. When I say play with friends, I really mean sit in front of an electronic device with friends. Whatever keeps them happy for 4+ hours while they are waiting for us.After the temple we went over to the science museum a few minutes from the temple. The kids have been dying to go to this certain exhibit we saw when we first went there a few months ago. It was rather spooky. There were stone images that spoke and sang to us.
We had to go and find clues to unlock the treasure. There was a lot of death and carnage along the way.
It was rather hard to find the clues to the first one.
You had to find certain images and then push the code to get the stone creature to give you a special message. Peter loved pushing the buttons! (He LOVES buttons of any kind.)
Once you put in the right code the stone image sings you a clue to get the treasure at the end.
The second creatures area was super spooky.
At one point Lincoln, Peter and I had to go through a series of doors that would keep opening and closing and you had to get through them in time. There were signs that said you had to do it alone... but we didn't listen.
At one point the boys were stuck in one side and I was stuck in the other. Peters arm almost got smashed by the door. He was very concerned that he was on one side of the door and I was on the other.
Jeremy was with the other three kids trying to save us so we could all be together again.
Peter had finally had enough and broke down in tears. Poor little guy.
These three may have broken down in tears and screams so loud the workers had to come and save us.
The whole exhibit was rather fun to explore.
We found all the clues and made our way to the last stone building. Jayne had had quite enough at this point. We went inside and all of the stone creatures were there to sing to us.
Is it horrible that this experience made me want to take them to Disneyland just to take them to the Haunted Mansion? I am a terrible mother... ;)
